Everyone has a little champion inside of them. But here in the Ozarks, the Olympics are all about fun. Channel your inner ‘Olympian’ for our special Big Cedar pie eating contest, ‘patty’ toss, cattle roping, seed spitting and hillbilly horseshoes among many other games that are guaranteed to have everyone laughing their way to the gold. This activity requires a minimum of 15 participants (maximum of 40 participants) and has a one-hour minimum time commitment.
In addition to Big Cedar’s wild surroundings, our property is also home to manicured lawns and games that everyone can enjoy. For your group, select from high energy games or more reserved sports such as horseshoes, cornhole, washers, giant tic-tac-toe and KanJam. This activity has a two-hour minimum time commitment.
Life at Big Cedar Lodge is anything but stiff. We’ve created an activity that will help your group stay ready for all of the activities that await them during their stay. Our surprise meeting breaks will invigorate your group with stretching to music guided by our enthusiastic activities team. This break will get the blood flowing and reduce stress. Ask about adding our housemade chex mix to your stretch breaks, one of our signature Big Cedar snack items. This activity requires a minimum of 6 participants and each stretch break lasts approximately 15-20 minutes.
Game Show Games
Game show fans have something to look forward to at Big Cedar Lodge. We offer casino nights, Minute to Win it, Bingo, the Newlywed Game (and the Not-So Newlywed Game) and Win, Lose or Draw. Game show activities make perfect indoor and back-up activities during inclement weather. Game show activities require a minimum of 15 participants and have a one-hour minimum time commitment.
Pirate Treasure Scavenger Hunt
To scavenge is to discover and Big Cedar Lodge is a treasure trove of adventure. On the pirate treasure hunt, teams will receive a special list of riddles. But this is no landlubber’s game – the search takes place on your very own pontoon boat out on our lake in search of your pirate treasure. After all of the booty is recovered, all pirates will return to land for a pirate song you’ll write together. This activity requires a minimum of 15 participants and has a two-hour minimum time commitment.
Land Scavenger Hunt
Only one team will be the fastest and go on to win the Big Cedar exploration challenge. Your group will receive clues to various locations throughout the property with a list of items to find at different locations. Fastest team to finish wins. This activity requires a minimum of 10 participants and has a one-hour minimum time commitment.
Photo Scavenger Hunt
Whereas some scavenger hunts require collecting things, our Big Cedar Lodge photo scavenger hunt is all about getting the perfect picture. Each team will receive a digital camera and a list of riddles will reveal the subjects they must find and photograph. No cheating allowed – you’ll have to present your photos as evidence. This activity requires a minimum of 10 participants and has a one-hour minimum time commitment.
Paint and Pour
Create a masterpiece with teammates, family or friends! Our Art Instructor will walk you through step-by-step in a fun, laid-back environment. No painting skills are required, and we’ll provide all the supplies needed, including easels, paint, canvas, brushes and an apron. You get to take the apron and your artwork home! This activity requires a minimum of 10 participants (maximum of 30 participants) and has a two-hour minimum time commitment. Participants must be 12 years of age or older.
Big Cedar Buck Off
Nothing bonds a group of coworkers, family members or clients like a good ol’ fashioned rodeo. Strap on chaps and compete for braggin’ rights and prizes in a mechanical bull ridin’ rodeo. We’ll judge and score your competition and award the winners with a belt buckle for 1st place, trophy for 2nd place and a t-shirt/hat combo for 3rd place. Complimentary water and Big Cedar chex mix will be provided, with an optional cash bar. Or, make it a Buck Off Barbeque and indulge your group with a barbeque menu of mouth-watering foods prepared by Big Cedar’s Culinary Team. This activity has a maximum number of 50 participants and a two-hour minimum time commitment.
Your group is divided into teams. Each team is given the same ingredients and tools to cook up a great dish. You have one hour to become the Chili Champs! Each bowl of chili will be presented to our judges. This activity requires a minimum of 14 people and has an hour and a half minimum time commitment.
Picnic and Play on the Lawn
At Big Cedar Lodge, our pristine manicured lawns provide a haven of natural beauty and stunning views of Table Rock Lake. Treat your group to a picnic with a boxed lunch or hamburgers and hot dogs and games at one of many locations available around the property. Partake in lawn games such as horseshoes, cornhole, washers, giant tic-tac-toe and KanJam. Enjoy friendly competition on our putt putt course, or have a tournament on our sand volleyball court. We can even set up our mechanical bull for a rodeo on the lawn – your options are endless! This activity requires a minimum of 15 participants and has a two-hour minimum time commitment.
Is your team up to par? This activity takes place at Top of the Rock Golf Course, a true celebration of nature, the Ozarks and the game of golf. The Top of the Rock Practice Facility features an Arnold Palmer Driving Range with sixteen fully lit target greens and three teeing decks with recessed lighting. We’ll provide a mobile bar with alcohol of your choice for your group to enjoy while spending time on the driving range. This activity requires a minimum of 10 participants and has a one-hour minimum time commitment. Participants must be 21 years of age or older.
Bass Pro Shops Shooting Academy Challenge
Located at our very own Bass Pro Shops Shooting Academy, your survival skills and teamwork will be put to the test. From archery, shotguns, and slingshots to fire building, your team will compete to the finish with the scrumptious prize of roasting s’mores at the end of the trials. This activity requires a minimum of 15 participants (maximum of 50 participants) and has a three-hour minimum time commitment. Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
Treat your team to a whiskey tasting led by a local distiller. Learn about the unique qualities of each offering as you enjoy the tasting. Each class will include six specially-picked samples. Ask your CSM about adding a specialty cocktail. You will learn about the origins, history and methods of production, as well as how to critically taste spirits. This activity requires a minimum of 10 participants and has a two-hour minimum time commitment. Participants must be 21 years of age or older.
