Summary

Wash and clean all cookware (pots and pans), dishes, utensils and kitchen areas in accordance with Big Cedar standards.  Prep work for the culinary department such as but not limited to peeling, dicing, chopping, assembly finished product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

  • Clean pots, pans, dishes, silver, china, glass and all other cookware utensils following proper procedures.
  • Keep washing area neat and clean.
  • Store clean items in the proper location.
  • Keep kitchen floor area clean and free of debris.
  • Perform assigned prep work.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Assist with the sorting and execution of recycling procedures.

Language Skills

Ability to read a limited number of two - and three - syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Skills and Abilities

The ability to work well with a team, to prioritize, a sense of urgency and a real concern for guest satisfaction.

General Store Cashier

Summary

To ensure all guests are greeted in a friendly and courteous manner, handle all payment transactions, maximize guest satisfaction and revenue.

Essential Functions

  • Handle all cash and charge sales made through the General Store
  • Needs to have strong cashier and money handling skills
  • Operate Point Of Sale Software, Credit Card, and Gift Card machine
  • Report stock levels of guest, retail and office supplies to the General Store Manager 
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness for all areas within the department
  • Report all incidents of guest dissatisfaction to the General Store Manager
  • Assist guest with the highest level of professionalism possible
  • Perform all store opening/closing procedures
  • Will perform other duties as required

Qualifications

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

Must have basic computer skills, with the ability to learn new software in a timely manner; Point of Sale software experience a plus.

Vacation and Holiday Benefits

Holiday Pay

Bass Pro Shops currently recognizes six paid holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Regular full-time and part-time associates are eligible for holiday pay. To qualify for holiday pay, eligible non-exempt associates must complete 90 days of employment and must work all of their scheduled hours on the last workday before the holiday and all of their scheduled hours on the first workday after the holiday (unless on approved vacation or your absence is approved by your supervisor). Associates on a leave of absence do not qualify for holiday pay.

Full-time associates will receive eight hours of holiday pay at the regular straight-time rate for each paid holiday. Associates classified as part-time will receive four hours.

Vacation—Non-Exempt Associates

We all perform better if we take some time away from our jobs during the year. To encourage us to take a refreshing break from our work each year, the Company grants paid vacations to regular full-time and part-time non-exempt associates who worked at least 1,040 hours during the prior eligibility year. Vacation eligibility is based on the following schedules:

Years of Service Vacation

1 Year 40 hours
2–6 Years 80 hours
7-13 Years 120 hours
14+ Years 160 hours

Vacation—Exempt Associates
